Chainsaw HarryHarry Runkis has been a professional “Florida Wildlife Artist” for the past 18 years. Operating out of his wood shop in the Old Town Hammock area, he turns out hundreds of pieces of artwork which he then ships all over the globe.

What’s Missing at Waldo Park?

No benchesWaldo park has a great location; there’s no doubt about that. The old “Spillers Highway” is a heavily travelled road and is central to many of us who live in the Hammock area. So why is the park always empty? Except for the occasional Saturday birthday party or the late afternoon migrant-worker basketball game, the playground sits, quiet and unused, with nobody but a passing stray dog for company. It only takes about fifteen minutes for the reasons for the unpopularity of the Waldo playground to become apparent.

Doing Dixie Proud: Dixie Student takes home Swine Reserve Grand

FRANCIS WALTER BURY, SR.

MR. FRANCIS WALTER BURY, SR. of Old Town passed away Friday, March 28, 2008 at his home.  He was 70.  Mr. Bury moved to Old Town 16 years ago from Glenville, PA.  He was an automobile mechanic and a Catholic.
